The Loveland Fire Rescue Authority has been reaccredited by an international organization seven years after first achieving this status.
The Commission on Fire Accreditation International ruled that LFRA had met criteria established by the commission’s accreditation program, according to a release from the fire authority.
The accreditation process includes a community risk assessment that identifies the level of risk throughout a department’s response area and then aligns with a standard cover document that details specifically how the department plans to respond to all forms of emergencies in its community. Once this is completed, these documents are then reviewed and validated by a peer assessment team through a series of interviews and an in-person site visit.
The release added that the CFAI is dedicated to assisting fire and emergency service agencies throughout the world “in achieving excellence through self-assessment and accreditation to provide continuous quality improvements and the enhancement of service delivery to their communities.”
Fire Chief Tim Sendelbach said in the release that the achievement of Accredited Agency status “demonstrates the dedication and commitment of the agency to provide the highest quality of service to our community.” He said that the LFRA has used the Commission on Fire Accreditation International’s process, which first accredited the department in 2016, as a way to plan for the future and find areas of improvement for their service.
“I’m incredibly proud of the hard work that has been put forth by the members of the LFRA,” Sendelbach said in the release. “This recognition confirms our services and our plans for the future of LFRA are in line with national standards and best practices of the fire and emergency services.”
